Michigan Process Server

Using a civil process is an alternative to using your local Sheriff's department to serve court paperwork such as summons and subpoenas. If you have a small claims lawsuit, or any other civil lawsuit such as a tort claim, divorce, or eviction, I can serve the paperwork in a timely manner. Legal paperwork is served with professionalism, I will not be rude, or inconsiderate to the defendant or recipient of legal paperwork.

Civil process service includes, a notarized certificate of service mailed to you.

Please note that, in situations where a breach of peace is possible (such as encountering a defendant who is hostile), or in the case of where three attempts have been made, your paperwork will be returned, and the certificate of service will note that unsuccessful attempts were made. Is it standard practice for any process service.

If you do not know where your defendant or witness lives you may wish to hire a private investigator or use a service such as 1-800-US-SEARCH to locate the last known address.

Note that Michigan State Law restricts travel to within a 75 mile range, Additionally papers cannot be served on a person who is attending a religious worship service, on Sunday, or on any election day.

Michigan Penal Code 750.47 9 prohibits resisting or obstructing a process server in the performance of their lawful duties punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for not more than 2 years, or by a fine of not more than 1,000 dollars.
